Birchtail
lichenclan
Ginger mackerel tabby she-cat with green-blue eyes
warrior
she-cat
31 moons
Appearance
- Birchtail is built quite stockily, with legs and a tail which are slightly shorter than would be expected. It can set her apart from the vast majority of other Lichenclan cats due to the muscle she has, however that doesn't stop her, as she still carries herself highly, and displays the typical sharper LichenClan features. She also isn't as thin as other clanmates, but can use this to her advantage when overpowering smaller foes purely due to her size and being different to her clanmates.
The she-cat boasts a feathery, thin pelt, coloured ginger with darker stripes, which hardly break as they form lines up and down her body. A little white is seen on her muzzle, tail tip and the toes of her front two feet, but it isn't overwhelming. Having the ginger coat allows her to blend into the sand of the LichenClan hunting grounds, whilst still being bright.
Birchtail inherited a lot of her father's facial features, with a sharp, long muzzle and long whiskers which she manages to keep groomed despite their uncontrolled personality. Her eyes, whilst green, can show light hues of blue in certain lights, although this is rare. [193 words]

Personality
- ✓ Loyal
Birchtail forms very strong bonds with StarClan, those she cares about and her clan in general. Betraying those within her clan - who she doesn't have a problem with - is treason to her. She wouldn't even consider killing or harming her leader, or those who she looks up to. Her beliefs are firm and will not change easily, and this gives her an unwavering goal in combat, with no room for error. However, this can have it's downsides... [79 words]
- ✓ Humble
For all her faults, Birchtail doesn't think highly of herself, projecting anything she does as a success for the higher ups of the clan. She doesn't have much of a big ego, instead degrading herself compared to others sometimes, and has a habit of under-estimating her abilities. [47 words]
- ✓ Persuasive
While it can be argued that this is more of a flaw than a good trait, Birchtail's way with words can help lead cats in the 'right direction', particularly kits or apprentices, as they are generally easier to lead. She can help unite her clanmates with a singular goal, and believes that this can be a way to help all of the clan to have one goal in mind, which definitely helps with coordinated hunts and battle patrols. [78 words]
- ☓ Envious
Birchtail's most notable flaw is a burning jealousy towards those who get what she doesn't. This is most clear when looking at her relationship with her sister, and how it has deteriorated. Birchtail won't hesitate in taking away the pleasures that some cats have in order to make herself feel better and let them feel how she has felt in the past, and continued to do so even now. She personally is not aware of this fatal flaw and it will continue to fester and grow inside of her until someone tackles it, or it blows up in her face. [101 words]
- ☓ Authoritarian
The she-cat displays a classic symbol of obedience - The Authoritarian Personality. This demonstrates itself in a submission to authority and rigid beliefs, leading to intolerance. These traits manifest in becoming an easy target for manipulation from her leader, deputy and medicine cats, allowing her to be used for anything that she agrees with. As well as this, she appears to be intolerant of other groups - notably, the cats who do not believe in Minnowstar. [77 words]

History
Birchkit was born alongside her sister Hawkkit to Dovefang and Goosewing of LichenClan. Dovefang and Goosewing originally got along very well, seeing like a good couple, though it wasn't to last. Goosewing was an awful mother, and couldn't bond with her kits, since she never really wanted them. Dovefang stepped in to try and be a parent, trying his best to keep them under control and raise them right. The sisters grew up close, failing to bond with Goosewing although Dovefang tried his best, almost becoming a temporary queen to see his daughters grow up well. However, he believed that his mate would see sense. It wasn't to be.
Not long after Birchpaw and Hawkpaw reached apprenticehood, Goosewing was found dead, assuming to have drowned or frozen in the sea. Dovefang was distraught, and seperated from his daughters. Birchpaw sought attention elsewhere, getting it from her mentor - an adamant supporter of Minnowstar's. Slowly, her personality warped, and her views shifted, mirroring those of her leader. By the time she reached warriorhood, she now shared totally different views to her father and sister, Hawkflight.
Not long into warriorhood, Birchtail became close with one of the older apprentices, named Shadepaw. He shared her cynical sense of humour and belief in their leader, and this caused them to bond quickly. They became mates not long after Shadeshadow's warrior ceremony. However, this wasn't to last. Shadeshadow was killed of hypothermia just a few moons ago, and this drove Birchtail to isolation. She now lives in envy of the life that her peace-loving sister has with her own mate, Bluecry. That could have been her. If only... [271 words]
