Appearance
XoY BB Dd Aa Mcmc tata spsp bmbm ww CC LL ii
Though he is but a child now, even as an adult, Pebble will be all legs and ears. A being of lean muscle, he will never have much in the way of sheer body mass. No, instead he cuts a skinny silhouette, not quite as tall as his brother, but nearly as willowy. His stature warrants a second take - is he a slight thing or is he starving?
His coat is short and sleek and adds nothing to the appearance of size, even on his slim and whip-like tail. Black stripes cut across a base of varying browns, lighter on the belly and darker at his back with a splash of white on his muzzle and chin.
His face matches the rest of his body quite well which is to say it’s rather skinny. Shaped like a wedge, his angular head tapers significantly from a wide base to a long and pointed muzzle. His eyes are a rich amber with a large size that always hints towards youth. The most prominent feature of his face, though, is easily his ears. Perhaps comical anywhere but the tribe, they are so big that they can’t stand up under their own weight in his youth. Between those floppy ears and wide eyes, he spends a lot of his early moons looking like an oversized newborn.

Personality
+Optimist, friendly, loving
/Attention-seeking
-Insecure, impulsive, overzealous
At his core, Pebble is a good-natured cat. He tries to believe the best in every cat and wants to believe that good things will always happen. He finds out early on in life how desperate he is for positive connections. With his parent figures Fire and Sumac rather distant, he turns to his peers for that validation. Still, Pebble tries his best to be a literal ray of sunshine in an attempt to make those around him happy.
Pebble bends over backwards to be the cat he thinks others want him to be out of fear of rejection. He tries very hard in everything he does which sometimes leads him to overcommit. He is constantly fearful of losing those close to him or being abandoned by the ones he loves. He is quick to over-think if an interaction doesn’t go just the way he expected and is prone to spiraling emotions when he inevitably convinces himself that none of his friends or family truly like him. He combats these feelings with his enthusiastic friendliness. If he makes himself more likable, then he won’t have to worry!
Pebble’s “act first, think later” approach to life doesn’t help his worries and he finds himself asking “why did I do that?” far too often. But then he wakes up the next morning with the same “get up and go” mentality and lessons are rarely ever learned.

History
Pebble was born as the second son to Hemlock and River, coming into the world just behind his brother Puddle. It seemed, though, that the happy family his parents had envisioned was not meant to be. Complications during the kitting claimed River’s life and, in a fit of grief, Hemlock attacked Sumac and was banished leaving two apparently orphaned kits behind.
In need of care, Pebble and his brother were given to the care of one of Sumac’s most loyal followers, Fire. She is far from a loving mother, though, and Pebble will spend much of his energy trying to earn her approval.
