Cloudstep
Thistleclan
white tom with gray tabby face, legs and tail
warrior
Tom
28 moons
Appearance
Cloudstep is not how you would typically expect a Thistleclan cat to look. Among the dark shadows and pines, Cloudstep's coat sticks out like a sore thumb. Most of the time he will roll in mud and dirt to hide the stark difference, however there are times he enjoys the challenge of sticking out so much. Along his fur, mostly centered around his paws and tail are grey tabby stripes that he inherited from his mother. other lighter stripes are littered along his back and flank but one would have to look very closely to see these as there are a very very pale grey.
If one were to look at cloudstep straight on, many can see the Thistleclan heritage. This is where the darker part of his fur are found. He had the traditional M marking of a tabby on his head his his are a dark grey almost black that doesn't seem to go with the rest of his face. His nose is a strange occurrence in itself as it fades from black along the edges to a dark rosy pink as it reaches the center. To complete his over all look are the ice blue eyes that seem to see deep into a cats soul.

Personality
Cloudstep is by no other words a big brother. Born first among his siblings, he feels as if it his sole purpose to make sure that his sisters are safe and happy. Now does this mean that he won't go a bit out of his way to embarrass them? No. After all that is what a brother does isn't it?
Some think that when it comes to his sisters that he can be a bit of a push over, but if you ask Mistpaw and Lilypad that is far from the truth. While he is more likely to be pulled into the jibes and games, he does know when to offer the stern word or the comforting shoulder. He loves his sisters and would do anything for them.
When it comes to his clan, many have said this protective nature has flowed into that part of his life as well. It is not strange to see Cloudstep offering to take up extra patrols or duties to make sure that his clan is provided for. Many believe that this is from the training Greyclaw drove into him, but in reality it is because he wants to explore and know what is out beyond his clan. He follows in mothers steps more than any cat could ever know. He know that it could lead to danger or trouble, but a part of him just wants to know.

History
The coming about of Coudstep's birth was nothing short of a miracle. If you were to look at his parents, you would never understand how Bluefeather and Hollystep had ended up together. Being complete opposites the two cats were often seen bickering over the simplest of things, however, at the same time they worked rather well together. So when Hollystep announced they were expecting kits, every-cat was surprised and not all at once.
Right at the end of green-leaf, Cloudkit was born just minutes before his sister Lilykit. Reminding his mother if the crisp white cloud that had scattered the sky that day, Cloudkit was looked over protectively by his parents. In turn, this formed his protection of his sister. Even at a young age, Cloudkit knew Lilykit was strong enough to care for herself, but anytime he heard her cry out for any reason, it wouldn't take him long to be bounding to her side and checking her over to make sure she was okay.
When they became apprentices, the protective nature was still present but most of Cloudpaw's time was taken up in his training. Being mentored under Greyclaw, a strict and ruthless but also caring she-cat, Cloudpaw was up at the crack of dawn and either helping around the camp or training until the sun went down. Most night he barely remembered falling asleep but he didn't mind. He enjoyed Greyclaw's strict lessons and careful instructions. It kept him focused and each day he could see himself becoming a warrior that would make his family and clan proud.
Then out of the blue something happened that changed his world completely. His mother had a kits. Surprised by this news, Cloudpaw's training seemed to take a dive for the worst. Greyclaw, surprisingly understanding, gave him a few days under the promise he would come back and work harder than ever to make up for the missed days. That evening, Cloudpaw laid eyes on his younger siblings for the first time. They were all so small and weak looking. All he could do was sit there and stare at them. And the one that caught his eye the most was a small white scrap with markings like himself and his mother....Mistkit.
As he had promised Cloudpaw returned to his training and now he had a new goal, become a warrior, protect his sibling and watch his family grow. But even with all his training, there was something he couldn't protect his family from. A horrible sickness swept through the camp that leaf bare, and in it's wake it took his mother and all but one of the kits to join the ranks of starcan. Mistkit, the lone survivor of the invisible enemy was now alone in the nursery. Cloudpaw watched helplessly as their father tried to care for her alone but the kit was scared and lonely.
After several sleepless nights, Cloudpaw finally did the one thing that he swore he would never do.
"Greyclaw, i need to cut back on my training. Just....just a little. Mistkit needs me and Lilypaw. Please."
The words had stung but he knew the truth. His family needed him. And nothing, not even his own training would come before that. Surprised by his determination, Greyclaw backed off.
At 17 moons, cloudpaw was awoken hastily by Lilypaw. He had been out late working on some advanced hunting skills and wanted to sleep in. But it sounded like a meeting had been called. He moved to join the crowd and in that meeting Cloudpaw received the best gift he could remember.
"From this day forward, Cloudpaw, you shall be known as Cloudstep. You have shown great skill in hunting and have followed in your mothers paws of becoming a great warrior and leader of your family."
Since that time Cloudstep has done as he always promised. Mistkit, now Mistpaw, has started her training and from a careful distance he has always watched her. He still visits their father, who is now in the elders den, and banters with Lilypad on the occasion. But through all this, something beyond the camp wall, beyond the clan boarders seems to be calling his name.
