Lupinedusk
Lichenclan
long-haired dilute calico with amber eyes
warrior
she-cat
38 moons
Appearance
Stature: With a petite frame underneath her thick fur, Lupinedusk is not a very muscular cat, forcing her to rely more on wits than brute strength in battle.
Pelt: Her dilute calico coat is a mix of hues, depending on what the light catches. In the tunnels, she appears gray—in the sunlight, the warmer orange and lilac hues of her pelt show through. Her fur texture is coarse, with the fur of her tail looking especially clumpy, but it's not for a lack of self-care.
The only white fur on her calico pelt is on her muzzle, paws, chest, and stomach.
Face: With a long, ovular face and wide amber eyes, she's a bit odd looking upon first glance, but her expression is usually quite warm and friendly. Her narrow, white-tipped muzzle is dotted in small scars from past battles.

Personality
+ Determined, Loyal
- Manipulative, Vengeful
= Faithful, Girlish, Philosophical
---
+ Determined
If she puts her mind to it, Lupinedusk will do it. If she wasn’t so strong-willed, she never would have survived an apprenticeship under Minnowstar, nor would she have been able to sacrifice a romantic life with her kit-hood best friend. Saving Lichenclan from an eternity in the dark forest is more important than anything, and she’ll do whatever it takes to secure a peaceful future for the clan she loves.
+ Loyal
Loyal to her clan, Lupinedusk would never break the code unless Starclan themselves asked her to. She is fiercely loyal to those she cares about, even if she has an odd way of showing it.
- Manipulative
While her goals are admirable, Lupinedusk is willing to do anything to achieve them, no matter how immoral or unorthodox. Manipulative and conniving, she’s a talented actor, and there is no extreme she won’t go to.
- Vengeful
Not one to forgive and forget, the desire for revenge can easily drive her to violence. She'd like nothing more than to make a pair of Redwoodclan kits suffer the way her and her brother suffered when they lost their parents in the war.
= Faithful
Lupinedusk strongly believes that Lichenclan’s suffering at the paws of Redwoodclan can only be stopped by Starclan. If Starclan (speaking through Minnowstar or Briarfall, of course) tells her to jump, she asks how high. However, she is not one to preach or waste breath trying to convince others to believe what she believes, because it doesn’t matter what they think. In her mind, the burden of saving Lichenclan falls entirely on her shoulders.
Without faith in Starclan, Lupinedusk would have no goal, no ambition, and a long list of violent, destructive, and downright cruel actions that would suddenly become meaningless.
= Girlish
As a kit, Lupinedusk often dreamed of falling in love and starting a family, values that most Lichenclan she-cats were raised to share. While those values have since been replaced with loftier ideals, she is still quite girlish, often engaging in harmless, giggle-filled teasing and easily falling into the role of a maternal figure for kits and apprentices.
= Philosophical
Listening more than she speaks, Lupinedusk could be considered more introspective than extroverted. As an apprentice, she did not come to the conclusion that she must obey Starclan to bring about peace overnight--it was a decision born of many nights deep in thought and many questions asked of her mentor.
History
LUPINEKIT
When their parents were killed in the same Redwoodclan battle, Lupinekit and her brother, Whitekit were just four moons old—old enough that they could eat solid food and wouldn’t need a foster queen, but young enough that their absence was sorely missed.
But while Whitekit was focused on surviving, Lupinekit’s thoughts were only of vengeance. When she was old enough, she’d make Redwoodclan pay.
Lupinekit had always been fascinated with Starclan, and the death of her parents only pushed her to seek out more information about her celestial ancestors. Whitekit tried his best to distract her from her vengeful thoughts, to get her to focus on the family she had here and now, but she was stubborn. While the other kits played, she’d often be in a corner somewhere by herself, deep in thought.
For that reason, most of the other kits in the nursery never bothered to ask her to play—except one. His name was Rabbitkit, born just a moon after her and her brother. He was funny, and brought her out of her shell. He was brave, too, albeit a bit reckless—when he overheard a group of apprentices talking about how Starclan must have taken Lupinekit’s parents away because of something she did, he tried to fight them all, only to end up with a nasty scratch across his tiny face.
During the two short moons before her apprenticeship began, she and Rabbitkit had grown inseparable—thoughts of vengeance were replaced by dreams of a life together with him. Whitekit wasn’t fond of the tom for taking his sister’s attention away from him and made no attempt to hide it, but deep down he was just glad that she was finally happy.
LUPINEPAW
The day of her apprentice ceremony was arguably more life changing than the day her parents died.
Her mentor would be Minnowstar, the leader of Lichenclan and the closest cat to Starclan. It was an honor and a privilege, and would bring her closer to answering the questions that haunted her kithood—how do I make Redwoodclan pay for what they’ve done, and how do I keep Rabbitkit and Whitekit safe?
Well, Whitepaw, now. Rabbitkit was still a moon behind, but she still made time for him between training sessions, which she took very seriously. Lupinepaw was not particularly strong physically, but Minnowstar taught her to fight using her brain more than her muscles.
It was through Minnowstar’s guidance that Lupinepaw learned what must be done—Starclan’s unfathomable power could give life, and it could rip it away, plunging a cat into an eternity of darkness. Following Starclan’s will was the only way to ensure her loved ones would be safe, and not just now in their mortal lives, but forever.
When Rabbitpaw became an apprentice, the two stayed close for several more moons. But the more she trained with Minnowstar, the more it was clear that she wouldn’t be able to enjoy things like love and family—she had been chosen for a holy mission, and she was willing to sacrifice everything to see it through. Even her best friend, her first love.
LUPINEDUSK
By the time Lupinedusk was named a warrior, she had mostly cut Rabbitpaw and Whitepaw—now Rabbitfern and Whitethorn—out of her life.
Rabbitfern was stubborn and confronted her more than once, tears pricking in his eyes every time he asked why she had abandoned him.
She wasn’t an emotionless cat—walking away from him was heartbreaking, but it was for his own sake. She was doing this for him, an act of selflessness and love that he simply couldn’t comprehend yet. He eventually stopped trying to reason with her as he became more and more depressed, but she still remained on speaking terms with Whitethorn.
As her former apprentice, Lupinedusk has also remained close to Minnowstar, taking the brunt of her ravings. To her, their leader's declining mental state is only a sign that they are running out of time—if the island isn’t cleansed soon, Starclan will plunge them all into darkness.
