The Apostles is a warrior cats roleplay based in northern Wisconsin. On Lake Superior, the wild cats have made the Apostle Islands their home. It is on these islands - Rocky Island and South Twin Island - that the clan and tribe cats have lived in a peace and harmony that ebbs and flows with the tide.
But as the tides turn, so does the truce that binds them to one another; and as the water raises, a darkness follows, an evil that will end in bloodshed and violence.

Character name:Juncoshadow Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: Juncoshadow would heavily emphasize hunting when mentoring and less so fighting. He will be sure to pass on everything that he knows to the best of his ability, and try to influence the apprentice’s personality if they are particularly rambunctious or a bully. Whether he would have a strong relationship with them or not depends on what kind of apprentice he gets. I imagine he would heavily emphasize StarClan as well in his teachings, particularly worship. Desired apprentice type: n/a Average response time: A week or two, though that varies currently. Status: Unavailable Currently training: Pantherpaw
Character name:Cherrybite Character Clan: ThistleClan Mentoring style: Cherrybite will be strict and tough on any apprentices she trains. She will heavily teach battle skills and less heavily hunting, and also emphasize duty and service to the Clan. Sparring sessions will sometimes be claws-out, though not often. She may put her apprentices up to challenges and competitions with other apprentices, emphasizing strength and not being weak. However, she can recognize when her apprentice needs a break and may not be performing well, and will give advice instead of straight-up being hard on them. Desired apprentice type: n/a Average response time: A week or two, though that varies currently. Status: Unavailable Currently training: n/a Previous apprentices: Pipithawk
Character name:Splintersight Character Clan: ThistleClan Mentoring style: Splintersight as a mentor is a force to be reckoned with. She's more extreme than Cherrybite, being even stricter and much tougher. Her training will almost entirely focus on battle skills and sparring. Splintersight also uses mentoring to impart her values on her apprentices, encouraging them to see their denmates as their competition and encouraging fights between them. Training may be claws-out with her. She will be hard on her apprentices if they show weakness. Desired apprentice type: n/a Average response time: A week or two, though that varies currently. Status: Unavailable Currently mentoring: Graypaw
Character name:Mintbreeze Character Clan: RedwoodClan Mentoring style: Mintbreeze would emphasize the importance of a warrior’s duty to the Clan, and discourage fighting just to pick a fight. He will still teach fighting and hunting skills, and may not be particularly close relationship-wise with his apprentice, it depends on the apprentice. He may stumble at times with training, being a little socially awkward, but he will try his best as mentoring upcoming warriors is his duty. Desired apprentice type: n/a Average response time: A week or two, though that varies currently. Status: Available Currently training: n/a Previous apprentices: Bumblestep
Character name:Dogear Character Clan: RedwoodClan Mentoring style: Dogear is a very well rounded mentor and dedicated to his apprentices and whipping them into shape. He is very encouraging and not super strict. However, he is very serious and so a rowdier apprentice would probably get under his skin and not enjoy having him as a mentor. He will make sure his apprentices turn out to be well-rounded, excellent warriors who serve the Clan well. Desired apprentice type: n/a, however I do want him to have an apprentice sometime who he becomes very close with. Someone with self-confidence issues would work well with him, so he can help them become more confident and sure of themselves. Average response time: A week or two, though that varies currently. Status: Available Currently training: n/a Previous apprentices: Shalepaw
RWC: Mintbreeze, Dogear, Shadowkit TC: Cherrybite, Splintersight LC: Deadeye, Juncoshadow, Foxglovepaw Tribe: Morning Fog Over Lake, Sky Where Thunder Roars tracker
Character name:Shrewfur Character Clan: Redwoodclan Mentoring style: Shrewfur is the closest thing to a classroom teacher, and focuses heavily on the powers of observation and mental development. As she had to learn, she wants her students to learn that there are meta-skills and thinking styles that will enable them to fashion their own solutions, and eventaully empart the skills to let them teach themselves their own lessons. Her specialty is observation and tracking. Training sessions may not always be conventional and will include offensive techniques, sentry, climbing, problem solving, and each apprentice will be given 'homework' in the form of some questions to explore that they will need to make a report of. Her training is rigorous, and can sometimes be frustrating for both the apprentice and mentor. Desired apprentice type: N/A Average response time: 2-4 weeks
Character name: Eggpelt Character Clan: Thistleclan Mentoring style: Eggpelt is a very laid back mentor who is forgiving of mistakes and encouraging in tone, though he is a Thistleclanner and is not afraid to push for the correct result, or rib on his students. Hunting is his specialty and his students will learn many techniques to keep the kill pile fresh. Eggpelt does not focus on fighting and prefers to solve his problems with words, so in addition to the standard curriculum, he'll be able to impart his wisdom on how to navigate the clan's unique social structure and gain a strong sense of self. Sometimes a hangout is a lesson in disguise, but if he isn't entertained or progress isn't being made, a lesson can turn into a hangout. He specializes in defensive combat, hunting, camouflage, exploration/navigation and 'civics' Desired apprentice type: Mischievous, N/A Average response time: 2 - 4 weeks
Character name:Flintheart Character Clan: Lichenclan Mentoring style: Flintheart was trained during the height of of the mooncave conflict, and his mentor was the deputy Hemlockheart. His faith told him that the development of his body is the way of the faith, and passes this philosophy onto his students. His lessons consists of rituals that honor the ancestors above by honing their bodies, and his specialty is endurance training. His training is strict and brutal, and he demands much, however he will stick by them through the pain as both a physical and spiritual guide. He is proficient at both combat and hunting, is noted for not teaching any flourishes, with a laser focus on the fundamentals. Desired apprentice type:N/A Average response time: 2-4 weeks
Character name:Pigeonheart Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: Pigeonheart would have a very lax approach to mentoring. He'd talk about StarClan's teachings and the politics within the clan all day if he could. When it comes to practical teachings he'd teach more theory before practice. In fact, he'd probably wait until 8 moons to actually hunt or fight and ensure his apprentice fully understands the reasons (why, how, when). After practical work he'd encourage his student to reflect their actions. Desired apprentice type: N/A Average response time: 1-2 weeks
Character name:Wolfbriar Character Clan: RedwoodClan Mentoring style: Wolfbriar approaching mentoring with a very hands on method. From 6 moons she'd have her apprentice out and practising. She'd encourage connecting with their forest and the prey on a spiritual level. Fighting would always be done with warning on not taking another cat's life. She's a big believer on learning on the job. Wolfbriar may be too harsh on her apprentice and criticise them if they make mistakes when they know better. Desired apprentice type: N/A Average response time: 1-2 weeks
Character name:Character name Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: Quickstrike’s own apprenticeship was marked by many trials and tribulations that pushed him to the extremes, molding him into cold, quiet warrior in record timing. His own approach to mentoring is starkly different, if not a little bit of a process in the making. He prefers to take his time with his apprentices and get acquainted with not only their personalities, but their inspirations, insecurities, faith, strengths, and weaknesses. He has a gentler hand than most would expect, preferring to guide and mold than lead and teach. He is not one to announce a cat’s flaws and harp on them, but rather encourage their strengths. Desired apprentice type: Quickstrike is typically drawn to the quiet cats who are uncertain of themselves. He can get stern if needed, and will be more than willing to take on a trouble maker, but much prefers to find the diamonds in the rough or the ones in the shadows. Average response time: 2-3 weeks, will prioritize these in an effort to make Quickstrike more active in more than just site plot
Character name:Windstorm Character Clan: Redwood Clan Mentoring style: a hard core, don't give no fucks kind of mentor who don't put up with stupid stuff. she won't pull any punches and won't be one to baby anyone. She can be frank to the point of being mean without meaning to Desired apprentice type: any Average response time: 2-3 weeeks

Character name:Smallstorm Character Clan: Thistleclan Mentoring style: Has extremely high expectations and will be a harsh teacher. Focus will be on maneuvering in physical battles and duels. Won't be super proficient at passing on hunting techniques and knows her own skills are sort of lacking there. May reach out to fellow warriors to have them exemplify their hunting skills instead, so they get access to a ranged skillset. Doesn't hold a lot of importance in the warrior code, but may include it sparingly. She will teach her apprentice to follow their intuition, morals and their critical thinking skills over any written rule. Will often give them thought experiments to chew on, and explore their cognition through conversation. Will also make them do an exorbitant amount of physical chores, she thinks it will build respect and character. Desired apprentice type: Smallstorm would ICly do best with someone who has tough skin and is unlikely to break or give up. She doesn't take kindly to quitters. But I think she'd be fun to play with any character type, especially if they're the complete opposite! Average response time: Anywhere from 1-2 days to 1-2 weeks. Unavailable Currently mentoring Hornetpaw
"Alright, you tell me what you wanna achieve, and I'll help you get there."
With a bold and can-do attitude, Azaleamask wants her apprentice to come out of their training well-rounded and confident. Rather than doing all the teaching herself through lectures or demonstrations, her training will involve a mixture of hands-on experience and lecture. This allows her apprentice to show her what they've learned in a safe environment free of judgement. Despite being a progressive maverick, Azaleamask recognizes the importance of social awareness within her clan. Therefore, she will aim for a balanced curriculum which will cover awareness of Lichenclan's unique political structure. Expect her to include topics including diplomacy, analysis of the clan's social structure and constructs, the role social classes play in the everyday lives of Lichenclan cats, and the differences between conservative and progressive political beliefs.
In her dynamics with her apprentice, she aims to teach her apprentice not to feel ashamed of their weaknesses, but to be aware of them and develop strategies to work around them. As her apprentice grows older, Azaleamask will gradually become a little more hands-off in her methods, allowing her apprentice to become more independent as they near warriorhood.
Azaleamask is a rather lenient cat, but she won't baby her student and has no room for excuses. She will hold her students to higher standards as they grow older, seeking to prepare them for warriorhood. This means that she will assign her fair share of menial chores if her apprentice is misbehaving. You only get out of training what you put into it, after all.

Azaleamask can bounce off any personality type, however, I would veer away from giving her a highly critical or argumentative apprentice given her fiery temper. Fully aware of how painful alienation from the social circles of Lichenclan can be, Azaleamask will gladly take on the struggling, disabled, or disadvantaged, with the goal of helping them prove themselves. The best match are apprentices with a lot of gall and spirit to keep up with her exuberance and energy.

1-2 weeks! I’ll try to prioritize training threads as best I can.
Character name:Nettlesting Character Clan: ThistleClan Mentoring style: Nettlesting puts more emphasis on how to outwit an opponent rather than always out-muscle them. He would tend to be less straightforward in his teaching style and would try make an apprentice think for themselves as much as possible—possibly to their frustration, making him harder to get simple answers out of. At the same time however, he wouldn't mind being questioned, and would be particularly rewarding of curiosity, and more cunning and less brass knuckles approaches to problems. He's not the kind of cat to put the easy training wheels on an apprentice and is likely to put them in situations where they'll be out of their depth early on, to build resilience. Desired apprentice type: Any kind of dynamic works for him. A friendlier or meeker type could always be interesting. Nettlesting can seem quite aloof and cold at times, and tends to express friendliness in quips at another's expense, so until one gets to know him and his certain brand of humor he may be fairly unapproachable. Status:Available
Character name:Ternclaw Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: He has yet to mentor anyone, and so would attempt to replicate his own mentor's more traditional teaching style, for better or for worse. He's ambitious and fairly lofty in his aspirations, and so would place the same expectation on whoever he mentored, but otherwise would be fairly balanced in his training methods. As it was something he himself had to learn, he'd try train his student to use their strengths to their advantage, rather than always approach problems head on. While sensitive, cynical and a bit doubtful, he has the strong belief that much can be achieved by simply trying and trying again. Desired apprentice type: Maybe another small fry type like himself. While prejudiced in favor of more traditional ideas given his upbringing, he would have any apprentice's best interests at heart despite himself, and given he's still young it could be they teach him as much as he teaches them. Status:Available
Character name:Scorchbranch Character Clan: RedwoodClan Mentoring style: Scorchbranch is lively and ferocious. Any training session with her is bound to be chaotic, especially as her first apprentice, and she won't have a clear idea of how to start. Still young, she acts largely on instinct and may not always be able to convey her ideas very clearly, and her argumentative and forceful nature means she will often lack subtlety. She leans strongly on her grandfather's teachings, a more militant cat, and would likely attempt to instill some of the same friction in her student toward their neighbors. Above all else however, she would want any apprentice of hers to have fun. Being slighter-framed than the average RedwoodClanner, Scorchbranch relies on her forwardness and aggression to give her the upperhand in a fight, and would be unsuited to teaching more evasive methods of fighting. Desired apprentice type: She caused her own mentors a lot of grief in her youth, so it would only be fitting if her own apprentice does the same to her. Whether they're just as strong-natured, or a completely different personality that clashes enough to make her have to later rethink her approach to teaching. Status:Available
Average response time: Anywhere from a few days to two weeks. I do get busy but I'm able to prioritize whenever needed.
Character Clan: Lichenclan Mentoring style: The time she spent training with Sturgeonstone made her into the molly she is today. She hopes to pass on what she learned onto the next generation of Lichenclan ladies. But with the changing of leadership and ways of the clan, Ivyflower wants to try to keep to the old ways but isn't opposed to learning the new ways as well. She just wants to see those that she mentors to find their own path within the clan and continue to grow and flourish. She will rely on others at times to make sure her apprentices are progressing at a fairly quick enough rate but isn't against holding them back if they are not ready to earn their names. She will consult with those in charge if needed when it comes to holding them back, bringing up her concerns so that the leaders understand the situation, whatever that may be. Desired apprentice type: Ivyflower would be more suited training the young mollies of Lichenclan. Not saying she couldn't train a tom she just has no experience with them outside of her family. Average response time: one to two posts a week (been working on my response time and will prioritize training threads)
Character name:Gullheart Character Clan: RedwoodClan. Mentoring style: Heavy focus on battle training. A once renowned fighter, there is nothing Gullheart likes more than to exchange blows with his peers and will expect similar interest from his apprentice. He doesn't care very much for more idle training such as hunting, and is more likely to pit his mentor against powerful foes than test their aptitude in hunting. Desired apprentice type: Gullheart works with any type of apprentice. Does best with ambitious types, but I can also see him instilling confidence in more timid character types. Average response time: 1-2 weeks. Status:Available.
Character name:Fawnbriar Character Clan: RedwoodClan. Mentoring style: Incredibly inexperienced, Fawnbriar's mentoring style would be largely sporadic and unregulated. Having progressed through the bulk of her training without issue, she was a naturally skilled apprentice with a highly experienced mentor and is seemingly unable to comprehend those that have difficulty with that which came naturally to her. Because of this, Fawnbriar explains very little and has seemingly unmeetable expectations. Expect training in both hunting and fighting, but nothing thorough for a young, learning mind.
Desired apprentice type: Preferably a cat who is the opposite of Fawnbriar. Someone less plucky, timid and lacking in confidence and may have more difficulty meeting warrior expectations than their peers.
Average response time: 1-2 weeks. Status:Available.
Character name:Heathermask Character Clan: RedwoodClan.
Mentoring style: Known for her prowess on the battlefield and raised during times of intense and regular fighting, Heathermask's method of teaching leans heavily into offensive and defensive maneuvers. She is a stern teacher with a traditional mindset, and stands as a stalwart representation of old RedwoodClan values. She is intolerant of slackards and exceedingly hard to impress, yet means well even in her sternness. Expect to obtain a balanced skillset from Heathermask's training. Although she prioritizes fighting, she believes a warrior cannot truly consider themselves of use to their Clan until they can master all aspects of warrior life.
Desired apprentice type: Heathermask would do well with a challenge. Cats that do not meet her expectations but would like to be crafted into fine warriors are definitely preferred for her.
Average response time: 1-2 weeks. Status:Available.
Character name:Tidechaser Character Clan: LichenClan. Mentoring style: A severe and uncompromising mentor, Tidechaser intends to teach not only the womanly duties which all she-cat's within the Clan are expected to uphold, but to bring the Clan strong, independent and self-driven she-cat's which the Clan can be proud of. She does not coddle her subjects, but hardens them to the realities of the world, both within the nursery and on the battlefield. Desired apprentice type: Tidechaser typically does best with she-cats that are strong-willed. Can work with those that are more subservient, but may not offer the most supportive learning environment for cats with these traits. Average response time: 1-2 weeks. Status:Unavailable. Currently training Holypaw.
Character name:Perchwhisker Character Clan: LichenClan. Mentoring style: A traditionally minded she-cat, Perchwhisker's rigid way of thinking means her training is equally unbending. Perchwhisker specializes in training disabled cats to find their niche within the Clan. She believes strongly in the importance of gender roles to keep the Clan functioning, and instills such teaching into her apprentices. Don't expect a heavy focus on battle training but some good old fashioned menial labor and StarClan worship. Desired apprentice type: Those within the Clan who suffer from some sort of disability. Average response time: 1-2 weeks. Status:Situational.
Character name:Firfoot Character Clan: ThistleClan. Mentoring style: Text here. Desired apprentice type: Describe type of apprentice you want and/or types, or n/a if any is desirable Average response time: 1-2 weeks. Status:Available.
Character name:Softstep Character Clan: ThistleClan. Mentoring style: Describe mentor style Desired apprentice type: Describe type of apprentice you want and/or types, or n/a if any is desirable Average response time: 1-2 weeks. Status:Unavailable. Currently training Kestrelpaw.
Character name:Blossomstep Character Clan: RedwoodClan Mentoring style: A bit scatty - she's also inexperienced, and not the most mature or put together by any means! Any apprenticeship will be a duel learning experience. Blossomstep would try to be a friend to her apprentice, not too strict, but also helpful. Desired apprentice type: An apprentice who won't bully her for not being strict, but other than that any is fine! Average response time: 1-2 weeks for prioritised threads like mentoring! Status:Available
Character name:Shimmerscale Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: Strict, but free. Shimmerscale wants to be anything but her old mentor, which means that she will teach any apprentice in any way that they want to be. An amazing warrior? Nurturing queen? Fine by her! She'll operate within her apprentice's means, and will do her best for them. Desired apprentice type: Any! Average response time: 1-2 weeks for prioritised threads like mentoring! Status:Available
Character name:Harrierflight Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: Strict and rigid. Harrierflight still upholds to the old legacy of family blood, and she wants to make sure any apprentices of hers come away with all of the fighting skills needed to prove their place in any family that they want. She won't waste time, and wants to reinforce the ideas of the old LichenClan and what they have to be proud of - although she's not as bad as upholding to that as the senior warriors. She understands that Minnowstar's time was not great, but still thinks the culture of family importance and values shouldn't be forgotten. Desired apprentice type: A cat with something to prove, competitive and with a thirst for learning. Average response time: 1-2 weeks for prioritised threads like mentoring! Status:Available
Character name:Ploverpelt Character Clan: RedwoodClan Mentoring style: Ploverpelt's mentoring style embodies patience, careful guidance, and a focus on deep understanding. His empathetic nature fosters a supportive environment, allowing room for mistakes as opportunities for growth. He excels in creating a safe space for open communication and draws from personal experiences to impart wisdom. Desired apprentice type:I'm flexible! However, Ploverpelt would likely prefer an apprentice who is curious, thoughtful, and receptive to guidance. Someone with a genuine eagerness to learn, open to exploring thoughts & emotions. Patience and an appreciation for the deeper aspects of understanding would align well with Ploverpelt's mentoring style.
I ask for a positive relationship in the long run.
Average response time: Within 3-5 business days. Most weekends I won't be active. I can speedrun threads if it's planned ahead of time. Status:Available
