History
KITHOOD - 0 TO 6 MOONS
She was born to Raggedtail and Doepelt of RedwoodClan in the early months of leafbare. Her two other siblings, Hollykit & Dustkit were stillborn. Her mother, growing crazed with grief, angrily spat at her last surviving kit and named her Maggotkit, because she was the reason, her mother thought, that her siblings had parished. This caused Maggotkit to be ridiculed and shoved away by her mother and father, who was already distant and not really a good father figure, as they thought it was her fault for her siblings dying at birth. She never understood why they were so cold to her and grew up with barely any attention from them, instead receiving it from the other warmhearted queens who took her in when her family didn't give a rats tail about her at all.
ADOLESCENCE - 6 TO 12 MOONS
Maggotpaw was happy when she became an apprentice. Her mentor was a cat named Dogsnap and she was happy to finally be away from her parents harsh stares during the day. He was oblivious to their hate for her, just thinking they were angry at her for something she did in training. He also didn't understand why they gave her the name Maggotpaw. She was a fairly beautiful molly and maggot wasn't exactly a pretty name. She noticed, throughout her time as an apprentice, that her mother and father were often looked down upon and many cats in the clan avoided them, though she didn't understand the reasoning behind that either. She grew to like a tom-cat she would train with: Gingerpaw. He was kind and smart and always talked to her kindly. He was truly her first crush. She spent her days, training hard and quickly with her mentor, and spending time with Gingerpaw afterwards. He seemed to be the kindest cat she ever met and her best friend too. One day, when Gingerpaw and Maggotpaw were together, Gingerpaw asked why she was named Maggot, as she was a beautiful she-cat. She suddenly felt cold, glancing to the warriors den where her parents sat outside, eating a mouse together. She looked to him and replied that she did not know and she didn't understand why her parents were so cold to her either. He nuzzled her cheek and explained it would all come out one day, to which she agreed. The time of their assessment came and both Gingerpaw and Maggotpaw passed with flying colors. She was as excited as she had ever been when finally, the leader called them forward to receive their new names under StarClan's watchful eye.
ADULTHOOD - 12 MOONS TO CURRENT
She became a warrior by the name of Maggotdapple. She went to approach her parents, to tell them the good news, thinking they'd be happy. That was a mistake. Her mother lashed out, blaming her for the death of her siblings and revoking her as her daughter. With an enraged attitude, she finally understood her parents coldness towards her. With a hiss and a growl, her personality shifted: from kind and happy to angry and snappish. Gingerpaw - now Gingertuft - came to her and asked her what was wrong. She growled at him to go away with tears in her eyes, but he refused. He sat by her, snuggling until the moon rose over the treetops and they laid together. The next morning, they were mates. Happy and content. The next few moons were tough, Gingertuft and Maggotdapple spent every moment they could together. There was a war going on between LichenClan and them and it was harder than ever. Gingertuft promised her, after it all was over, that they would be happy together. She hoped he was right. They fought the battle and they lost, a few good warriors dying, including Maggot's father, Raggedtail. As they brought his body into camp, she didn't shed a tear or fake anything. She hated the tom and she sniffed disdainfully as she sat to mourn him with Gingertuft. Her mate knew she didn't like him one bit and what happened during her kithood. She told him all of it. That night, she and him sat together, heads bowed to the warrior father she hated mourning. With that out of the way Maggotdapple and Gingertuft settled down and thought about their future together, maybe even about kits someday.
