The Apostles is a warrior cats roleplay based in northern Wisconsin. On Lake Superior, the wild cats have made the Apostle Islands their home. It is on these islands - Rocky Island and South Twin Island - that the clan and tribe cats have lived in a peace and harmony that ebbs and flows with the tide.
But as the tides turn, so does the truce that binds them to one another; and as the water raises, a darkness follows, an evil that will end in bloodshed and violence.
We felt that ego's proposal better aligned with our overall rogue plot. However, we encourage you to apply for other TA Canon Adopts, specifically Bramblestrike or Coyotesong if you want to be involved in this mini-plot! thank you so much for applying.
Member name: arialy Character name: Tawnypaw How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribes' plot (Ie. what are their opinions on current events)?: Tawnypaw disgusted by the weakened state of thistleclan. By losing their territory Thistleclan lost a piece of themselves-their identity They must to regained no matter the cost. Her hatred for outsiders has only grow as time and time again they have to be shown to nothing but scum and savages. The lose of her mother was the first critical blow, then Thistleclan's territory and even now they still at the campground rogues still pester them. Tawsypaw thinks need to make a stand against them and soon before the other clans get winded of it and they become the laughing stocks.
She also blames Thievingstar for not be aggressive and bold enough to handle the situation properly. While she has gives points to Stagflight for taking up the slack ,as any proper deputy should, Tawnypaw feels that her leader needs to there for Thistleclan and if Thievingstar can't step up the then maybe she unfit leader period.
Pinepaw: She's her other half in way. Tawnypaw is really looking out for her best interested at heart. She was to see her thrive but also view she's far emotional for the real world and need to toughen up. Tawnypaw would rather die than let her sister suffer the same fate as Shadowface so she push to on "right" path. She generally tries be like a coach to her sister but become overbearing when she don't mean to be. Even with that push come to shove Tawnypaw will listen to her sister... well most of the time
Stagflight: Tawnypaw still to this day still mixed about her father even moons after he helped when they were sick with yellow cold. She holds that some resentment towards him. She respects him as her deputy but as her father is a line that will take more time to cross. Tawnypaw is hurt by his actions even if shown he want to make amends and grown as a whole but she not ready to forgive him just yet.
What are your personal plans for the character? I want Tawnypaw to learned to lightened up and make some friends to possible open her heart a little more since she's so guarded. I want to learned to let her sister live and stop trying to be so controlling. Maybe down the road she will try to rekindle and full repair with Stagflight but that is a long and lengthy process on it's own. I want her and view-points to crash with outside/ rogue sympathizers possible she will learn there exception or fall deeper into her hatred for them.
Member name: Zuko Character name: Wavepaw (renamed to Shimmerpaw with staff's approval) How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribes' plot (Ie. what are their opinions on current events)? Shimmerpaw wants to be the best warrior possible. She detests the way that LichenClan views she-cats as queens and queens only, and wants to prove that she is more than a kitting machine. She protests every cat who says otherwise, and won't be afraid to break rules to push herself. In terms of leadership - while Shimmerpaw personally thinks that Minnowstar is clearly insane, she wants to be the best cat she can be under LichenClan's view, and StarClan's also. She is devout to StarClan, but personally wonders if the other clans really are as bad as Minnowstar says. As far as she knows, perhaps they view LichenClan the same way. What are your personal plans for the character? Shimmerpaw will be very different to my current character, Cressclaw, in that she is much more social and extroverted. She also doesn't question StarClan as much, allowing for a new approach to LichenClan. Also, I'm much more active now so it'll be fun to actually properly play an apprentice! I also really want to explore the traditions of LichenClan, and how Shimmerpaw would desperately want to break them and prove herself. Despite her families high status she does NOT want to get stuck in the nursery.
Member name: Zesha Character name: Coyotesong How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribes' plot (Ie. what are their opinions on current events)? Despite the fact that rogues have taken up shelter in the old camp, Coyotesong still believes there can be good in outsiders and even wants to believe that maybe the ones that have taken over their camp needed it, but just went about things the wrong way. She still truly feels there is some good in these cats if they could just get into their heads and make them see they could be part of the Clan, part of a whole community. But she’s realized that many cats don’t agree with her sentiments and has mostly become silent regarding them. And even though she does think there is good left in these cats, she does want to return home to the camp. She’s tired of not having the old warrior’s den to curl up into at night. She has no idea that at new rogue, Lily, has taken up the old camp and aims to get revenge on ThistleClan for her mother, Bittersong. She's likely to try to go talk to the rogues herself and possibly get chewed out by her father for it, if she doesn't end up captured. What are your personal plans for the character? I really like the ideas that were given in her bio—making boundaries with her father, possibly getting him to realize that she’s not a little kit anymore that needs to be saved. (We’ll see if that’s true.) Perhaps even mend some of the resentment she feels towards him for constantly being a thorn in her side, not even letting her be alone with her own mentor. But I really like the idea of her trying to get to know cats outside the Clans, especially if she can manage to run into her long lost brother and perhaps even eventually realize who he is. I can see this leading to all sorts of trouble if she were to slip up and tell them things about life within the Clan, even more so if they were to join and start trying to take apart the Clan from the inside. I’m unsure if that’s something that would fit with the plans of the site overall, though, so that’s just a thought. She just seems like a cat that would be interested in knowing what’s out there beyond the boundaries of her Clan, someone that wants to know what life is like for others.
How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribes' plot (Ie. what are their opinions on current events)?
Sticking with his summary, he's been fed up with the war between RWC and LC for a while now—plenty of his clanmates are eager to fight in the battles that arise, so he's mostly been able to take a backseat and "guard the camp", ie. take a nap. Looks for any chance to stir trouble, chasing prey over the border and putting scent markers just a bit too far out.
What are your personal plans for the character?
Ohh come here my angsty boy...he would be 21 moons now so he can legally drink and get into all kinds of trouble.
Ok ok kidding aside, I think age has done little to mature him—to me, I think he's caught in a sort of snowball effect. He started acting out as an apprentice, that's what he became known for, and now it seems disingenuous to stop, to better himself. He's lost respect for his father, his sister, and most of his clanmates, and deep down he's lost respect for himself. Without that sense of self-value or respect for others, he has no problem lashing out and breaking the rules.
For his arc, from a "wants vs needs" perspective, I think he wants to be left alone, to be independent, and to never be told what to do or when to do it. That could result in him briefly leaving the clan to try living on his own, or even breaking the code in such a heinous way it gets him kicked out, only to eventually realize he needs to stop running from his grief if he wants any chance at healing.
The difference between Tansy and Root, my other angsty character, is that Rootclaw has goals—to be the strongest, to be the best, to have her own clan—and deep down, she has a good heart. Tansy has no sense of direction, not now at least. All of his goals are short term—the dopamine rush of bullying a clanmate, the adrenaline rush of being caught hunting in Lichenclan territory, and his moral compass is much...flimsier.
How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribes’ plot (ie. what are their opinions on current events)?
› A Friend to Thee is No Friend to Me – Sumac will never favor the Clans—not their aid or the sacrifices they’ve made in exchange for them. In his eyes, their generosity came at a price they, from the beginning, were all too aware of, while the Tribe owes them very little. But he cannot deny the usefulness of their herbs or the wisdom in learning more of their ways; however, to learn these things is to better protect the Tribe itself from cats whose sudden appearance and abhorrence of them has raised his hackles from the very moment they came across one another.
› Bitter Blood and Bitter Roots – Descendant of a long and notorious line, Sumac is the last of his blood and bears the burdens and disdain of his ancestors readily upon his shoulders. He has not forgotten the Lead Prey-Hunter position was stripped from his kin, nor, either, the way in which it was denied even from him despite his own sacrifices. He views it as a scorn from the gods themselves, though he is uncertain how to earn their good favor. So he carries out his duties without complaint, despite the simmering resentment in his belly, and does well by his Tribemates. But always with a sense that he is serving beneath his station—always of the belief that in some way, he has been wronged by biases out of his control. However, with the subsequent deaths of Tellers and Head Prey-Hunters, he cannot help but feel an omen growing, and one more in his favor than any before.
› Come Sickness – At the onset of the sickness that ravished their numbers, Sumac developed and has maintained an exceptional level of distrust towards the Tribe’s Teller since Poppy’s contraction of the illness. Falling deathly ill, he bore witness to the steady but sure deterioration of his mother, himself unable to do anything to save her. As the sickness advanced and their desperation grew, he grew more restless at the ineptness of their Teller—a feeling that has only abounded since their alliance with the RedwoodClanners and the conflicts and hardships they’ve faced since. With the sandbar being destroyed, his distrust for the Clan has only grown despite his Tribemate’s growing fondness.
› Through Thickest Fog – Fog descends over the tribe following Creek’s untimely death. Found limp and unmoving within his own den, Sumac watched over his Teller’s fallen corpse with yearning, finally feeling as though the time had come at last for him to assume the position he was born for. However, with the return of the expedition effort, news spreads of a new Teller—Fog, a tom whose moons of inexperience do not fail to draw his attention. Deeply embittered, Sumac cannot help but think on the fog that plagues them and the bad omens bellied within it, though his suspicions seem only vaguely shared among his Clanmates.
› Learn from the Enemy – With the expedition's return comes the entrance of a new concept of using their strength and cunning against other cats. Sumac overhears these stories with interest. Despite his Prey-Hunter status, he begins to advocate for the adoption of Clan methods to strengthen in the face of the newfound threats that have arisen with the Clan’s knowledge of their dwellings. In secrete, he calls upon his fellow Stone Guards and learns the methods of felling predators, crafting them into battle moves better suited for felling other cats. Steadily, he develops a fondness for the necessity of more militant ways.
What are personal plans for the character?
› In the Shadow of Thine Enemy – Sumac is a character who has earned good favor within his Tribe. A skilled hunter despite his open dissent of the previous Prey-Hunter, for his open distrust, he has always been an avid and constant supporter of his Tribemates and a skilled provider to the kill pile. However, though Sumac’s skills have earned him his Tribe’s good favor, some grow wary at the brazen openness with which he questions the intent of their Teller and lead Stone Guard and Prey Hunter. But for as many as he unnerves, he is skilled in his way of speaking and the draw of his antics, and in time may draw the good favor of others through his natural cunning and physical prowess.
› Sacrifices Made in the Grave – Sumac only ever heard whispers of his grandfather Cypress, but even knowing as little as he did, he understood that their blood was an ancient and slighted one. Raised under his mother’s embittered care, he grew up with a head full of lofty promises and claims to power, and with time as he grew more skilled such feelings amassed into a sense of entitlement even now he has been unable to shake. With the passage of Prey-Hunter and Tellers, he has bided his time, waiting for the moment when the stars will recognize his abilities and the good he could do for the Tribe in their state of deterioration and weakness. Yet still, the stars have held a pensive silence. With each new anointment, his embitterment grows, his anger swells and festers despite a cool mien of calm. In time he will act upon these feelings, planting seeds of distrust among his Tribemates and openly opposing the words of Fog as he once did before with Moth. Such things are not known to them, but as he gets older in moons, these behaviors have taken on an almost dangerous fervency.
› To Right a Forgotten Wrong – Sumac’s ambitions will be guided by the belief that he is righting a wrong communicated to them through omens from moons ago. From the death of past Tellers to the ascension of a new one amidst a time of heavy fog and predator activity, he feels as though their ancestors have been speaking to them for a long time yet and that few of them are truly taking the time to heed them. But not he, for he sees the signs left to them, not only in the destruction of their sandbar but the surge of the coyotes, their emboldened attacks and fronts upon their very fields. He sees the warnings in the stirrings of hardship, and with winter fast approaching, feels there is little time left before they are crushed beneath the weight of their folly. In time, I would like for Sumac to learn of the sacrifices Cypress made and to inadvertently replicate his grandfather’s legacy—only this time more successfully than Cypress ever could.
› Live by Law of Thine Own – Sumac follows a code of his own construction and believes wholly in it and its enforcement. He does not believe in shedding the blood of a Tribemate—however, he would shed the blood of any he felt who threatened them. Nor would he openly oppose authority—unless he thought there a great need to do so. Sumac believes in breaking his rules for what he considers to be a moral good, whether there is truth in that or not. I would like to explore a cat with questionable morals disguised as having good intentions.
› Where Loyalties Begin and End – Sumac is loyal to his Tribe first and foremost but also believes in going against its traditions for what he considers to be the greater good. Where his Tribemates may frown upon his actions in the coming moons, it is of no import. He was born upon this island to guide them; in time, he is sure that they will see the good in all that he does. And so if he must kill, then he will do so for their sake. And if he must connive and sink in with the enemy, he will if for their sake. And to do so is to become closer to the world he envisions—a totalitarian society, unbending to the will of the Clan… perhaps even, in time, a growing threat to wipe them and their violent ways and pointless wars from the island.
Leaf that Falls from Quaking Aspen www.flickr.com/search/?user_id=26419785%40N07&view_all=1&text=phantom 1. Leaf loved her father. Heron that Flies Through Rain was all that she wanted to be. She loved hearing his stories, she loved the wide smile that would stretch across his face when he shared the feats of their ancestors. From an early age, Leaf knew that she wanted to not only be like her father, but like Sky and be a teller one day. She wanted to feel the fire those before her likely felt while saving their tribe, and she knew she could do that with Heron at her side.
And then illness struck, taking Heron from her life forever. Her father’s death crushed Leaf, and the calico kit was hardly the energetic and adventurous kit she had been before. Heron would have wanted her to stay happy, to smile like him, but she couldn’t when she had lost her favorite light. For a moment, life was bleak without Heron, until Fire put words to the entire family's frustrations. Heron’s death was preventable, she said. If only they had put their faith in a more experienced teller.
This fuels Leaf as she ascends to the rank of to-be. If their leader can't protect cats like her father, then she’ll do it herself. Scared of losing any more cats that she cares deeply for, Leaf struggles to connect with those around her. She appreciates her mother, and enjoys adventuring with Loon but can’t bear the idea of losing them as well. Leaf keeps her distance and instead puts all of her focus into becoming Teller some day.
With her hyperfixation towards power and resilience, Leaf is rarely seen without a prey-hunter or stone-guard at her side. She needs to utilize every chance that she has to hone her skills in any way she can. If only she could learn herbs too. Despite being an older to-be, Leaf still struggles to decide what she wants to be some day. She’s especially passionate about fighting and protecting the tribe from danger, especially with the coyotes, but finds it essential to emphasize her hunting as well.
The clan intrigues the young molly intensely. While she has no doubt that the tribes way of life is better than theres, she can’t but wonder if the tribe could be making better use of the abundant resources recently made available to them. If they could take their catmint and grow it themselves, then the tribe would be set for generations. Not only that, but Leaf is immensely perplexed by the idea of learning their fighting moves, hoping that it could put an end to their frequent coyote problem.
Creek’s death has left an odd taste in the to-be’s mouth, especially after the ascension of the equally young and inexperienced Fog. Leaf knows that more cats will die due to their leader’s ineptitude and is more than willing to put her faith behind a cat of actual experience.
2. The main things I want to explore in Leaf is her general disregard for the tribe's values of naturalism and community. Leaf fears deep relationships, and is aloof. She’s apathetic towards the feelings and emotions of most of the cats around her and is solely concerned with making sure the tribe's future is a bright one. Leaf wants to be the strongest cat, protecting the tribe with her own 4 paws. Leaf will do anything to get this strength, training fervently with whoever gives her the time of day. While her ambition is admirable, I want to rp out how the lack of connection to those in the tribe will affect her and how others think of her. She’s definitely not the nicest cat afterall, usually not knowing how to interact with others casually.
Also really excited to play out her feelings towards the clan and those returning from the clans. Leaf is immensely interested in them, but as mentioned above, struggles to form deep connections. The clans are simply a really tasty lookin means to an end for Leaf.

How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribes' plot (ie. what are their opinions on current events)?
BLIND LEADING THE BLIND
Regarding Tellers... As the moons have passed, Fire has lost much faith in the tellers of the tribe. Their youth is off-putting to her but more than anything they seem unprepared and without a plan. Time and time again, tragedy would strike on the islands. And each time, the tellers seemed at a loss for words. During the sickness in which her mate died, the teller had no way to help those sick. Instead of working himself or communing with the ancestors, he sent a young tom on a mission that practically was a death sentence from Fire's point of view. Stories of other tellers fill her with the hope that maybe there were once those that acted rather than hoped. No matter the troubles that Sky had caused in her time, she had been the one to climb the cliff to reach the cure. She had been the one to save the tribe. But since then, tellers have felt more and more useless, floundering for ideas rather than acting in a manner that would lead to success. She is unlikely to put any further faith in the current teller, finding him young, inexperienced, and likely prone to mistakes. The fog that descended upon the island seemed an ill omen of his future failures rather than a promise to make him successful. She believes that Creek might have been wrong once again in how he read the ancestor's wishes.
THE DARKNESS SCARES EVEN THOSE WITH A TORCH
Regarding Visions... Just as her faith in the tellers is fading, Fire's faith in the advice of the ancestors is leaving her slowly but surely. The idea that the teller is the one to interpret signs rubs her the wrong way. She does not understand why it is expected that the teller might have insight that the tribe does not. When the fog descended, it seemed obvious that the fog was an evil thing. She could assume that this sentiment was shared. So hearing that Fog was to be the next teller felt like a betrayal not only by the higher positions and Creek but also from the ancestors themselves. She wishes for a future in which the teller is a leader in name only; where they are more a diplomat rather than the sole connection to the ancestors and the only cat with knowledge of herbs. Despite their seemingly good, if clueless, intentions, she finds it suspicious that they keep this knowledge from the rest of the tribe. Despite outward appearances, she feels as though they hide this knowledge intentionally, for if the rest of the tribe were to know the truth, the tribe may realize those leading them were also in the dark.
SHOULD THE SANDBAR RETURN
Regarding Clan Cats... Fire trusts few, so those across the water could never gain her approval. She has determined that they only bring trouble. While they have greatly helped the tribe in the past with their herbs, they have also threatened the tribe with great danger. Because Fire believes that the teller should have been able to heal the tribe with their own abilities, she downplays the good that was done by RedwoodClan so she does not have to accept that the cats beyond the island could be a useful resource. In some ways, she would be willing to agree that using the resources on the island could be beneficial for the tribe. However, she strongly thinks that any interaction with clan cats only brings danger to the tribe. Even if the cats they communicate with are friendly and cooperative, their influence only attracts others to cause harm. Despite wanting nothing to do with the cats themselves, she is interested in the way that they live and govern in the hopes that she could use knowledge of their successes and flaws to better understand the tribe's political landscape.
THE SICK AND THE HUNGRY
Regarding the Recent Events… It is said that revolution follows a pandemic and a famine, and Fire is ready for this inevitably. Her trust in authority is long dead, and her love and dedication to her tribemates push her to move forward towards the change she wishes to see. Dissemination of knowledge is her primary concern. The knowledge of herbs that the teller "hides" seems to her like the knowledge that should be shared among many. She believes that if more cats knew how to deal with fighting sickness, they would have been better at dealing with the illness before it took so many. Additionally, the recent surge in predators has strengthened her opinion that prey hunters needed to know how to fight. If they had been more adept at it, they would not require stone guards to follow them around as they hunted, and would be less likely to die at the jaws of a coyote or fox. This sharing of knowledge and strength is what she believes will save the tribe from future struggles. She knows that others may not agree with her because of the tribe's generally peaceful, family-oriented position. She does not want to shake the waters and separate herself from those she wants to protect. She does not act or speak in a way that would inhibit her ability to work with her tribemates. Instead, she waits for the moment that others open their eyes to the flawed system so that she can join them in dismantling it.
What are your personal plans for the character?
INSECURE AVOIDANT
Regarding her Children... Fire was always a strict parent to her two kits. While her mate Heron was largely the fun father figure, always ready with stories and playtime, Fire played more of a disciplinary role within the family unit. She loves her children dearly, but the necessity of occasional punishment as well as her naturally serious nature led to a somewhat strained relationship with her children. In this single way, she resented Heron before he died, as she sometimes felt that if he had shared the duties of parenting she would be closer to her remaining family. While she loves her children dearly, her love is shown through high respect and higher expectations. Her complicated relationship with expressing her emotions in a conducive manner has led her to avoid more "lovey-dovey" conversations, even with her own family. This has led to a complex relationship of wanting to become closer with them but also fearing their rejection.
EVERYTHING FOR YOU
Regarding her Tribe... Despite Fire's more abrasive, strict personality, she cares very deeply about her tribemates and would do anything to help them be happy and healthy. She does not get along with everyone, but she would drop everything to save a member of her tribe in an instant, no matter their prior relationship. In many ways, her bark is worse than her bite, as she is unlikely to do physical harm to another cat. Despite this, she may become enveloped in less than savory interactions. Her drive to help others may push her into more dangerous places, and it is also very possible she does things that others would not agree with. She is the type to do sketchy things behind the shadows if it means a better life for the tribe as a whole. She is willing to do the dirty work involved in keeping those she cares about safe, no matter what anyone may have to say against it.
A FORCE FOR CHANGE
Regarding her Goals... For now, Fire accepts her duties from those around her without complaint. She is dedicated to her job, and her deep love of her tribe pushes her to do her best work. Simultaneously, she knows that change must happen for the tribe to remain in a safe and peaceful state. And should she hear of others echoing her sentiment, she would likely begin working for reformation as an ally to their efforts. She wishes no harm to anyone, though she is willing to fight for her beliefs. She will likely begin by working with younger prey hunters and to-bes in order to stress the importance of self-defense as well as working on how to be a better fighter herself. She also craves knowledge that is largely not offered freely for her to learn, whether it be about herbs, her ancestors, or combat, and will actively seek out such things. It is important to note that even if she has been told only the truth, she is hesitant to trust and will likely assume that secrets are still being kept. Her paranoia and obsessive personality will only make it harder to believe the truth if it were to come from those in power. Even in a perfect world, she would find conspiracy and think she is justified in her discovery. As a cat who decides her actions based on the circumstances that affect her tribe, she has no major plans for when she steps towards the front in sharing her ideas. She is willing to wait for others to show their interest in what she might have to say.
ONE BY ONE, THEY ALL FALL DOWN
Regarding her Fall from Grace... As winter approaches from a prey scarce autumn, Fire's faith in the leaders of the tribe is fragile. If they are able to avoid all future tragic deaths under Fog's new leadership, it is possible that they earn her respect. However, this is a golden standard that is unlikely to be met due to circumstances outside of Fog's control. She sees each tragic death as a failure of those above her station. In the case that disaster strikes those that are close to her, she could be driven to severe actions if she believed the blame was not her own. Her opinions could become increasingly dangerous until she is ridden with an angry, bitter paranoia. Her mistrust of authority could lead to a tragic end for herself or for those around her.
Another possibility is that she is forced to reconcile with the notion that she is no better than any of those she mistrusts. She is in a situation where tragedy is unequivocally her own fault, and she cannot blame anyone but herself. From there she begins to spiral in her guilt, doing anything to rid herself of its stench or accusing every other of their own wrongs, until her desperation leads to her or others' downfalls.
Regardless of her end, Fire is unlikely to spend her days until she becomes a has-been. She has a tendency towards paranoia, delusion, and desperation that is unlikely to prevent her tragic ending.
