FIREFLY OF
TWILIGHT'S GLADE
Tribe of Floating Stones
a smokey black spotted tom with green eyes
PREY HUNTER
TOM
24 MOONS
APPEARANCE
a smokey black spotted tom with green eyes
Firefly carries a dark, smokey pelt that runs from an inky black to a light gray. He is short-furred, carrying the usual pelt of an Egyptian mau with a particular silvery sheen. His chest and underbelly are generally much lighter than the rest of his body. Black spotted markings become more prominent on his upper back and flanks; they become progressively more striped and elongated toward his front paws and face. These markings give Firefly a consistently messy look, despite his meticulous efforts to look as spotless and clean as his other Clanmates.
For a tom, Firefly appears to be on the slender side, making him suited for his prey hunter role. He is not the strongest cat, and his appearance makes this no secret. On top of this, this skinny frame often has cats commenting on his ears that appear to be too large for his head. That being said, behind his facade of confidence, he is not all that proud of his looks.
Firefly's gaze consists of a set of curious green eyes. They are surprisingly bright, rendering his stare surprisingly intense and giving him his name. On dark nights, these eyes are the only feature that give away Firefly's presence. They give him his name, as a strange and alluring light in the dark. The rest of his face is jagged and rather geometric with a harsh and abrupt jawline.

Personality
Creative - humorous - lonely - arrogant - disruptive
Firefly is not a particularly bright cat, but he deeply wishes to be. From kithood, he was a curious and adventurous one, but he never quite had it in him to gather knowledge about the natural world. Instead, his intelligence manifests in his creativity and wits. A natural jokester, he makes friends quickly and easily, spreading his charm and energy around the Tribe. His humor and ability to make cats feel at ease render him a joy to have in the group. Firefly loves surrounding himself with other cats and could be said to have far more emotional intelligence than intellectual ones.
With his charm and humor, Firefly is a cat that empowers others. He tries his best not to think about the future and insists on living in the moment. Bold and sociable, he will not hesitate to take action as soon as he sees fit. He is a cat in constant motion, working each day to its best and ensuring his Tribemates do so as well. As a friend, Firefly can engage in amazing banter and incite excitement about the most mundane tasks.
However, despite his many clusters of friends, Firefly seldom becomes close with any cat. He lacks real, close friends or family that truly support him during times of need. Because of this, Firefly often feels as if the more friends he makes, the lonelier he feels. He watches his acquaintances grow close to each other and move on with their lives, while he is unable to form close connections with any of them. One of Firefly's worst fears is to live and die alone, being forgotten the moment he leaves for the Tribe of Endless Life.
In the end, Firefly craves affection and attention. His loneliness only encourages him to act out and show off. He flaunts his flirtatious humor and arrogant confidence but deep down carries many rooted insecurities. As if to compensate, Firefly talks himself up in every way possible. He boasts about his hunting abilities and can appear rather condescending at times, bordering on obnoxious. He will not hesitate to make himself known and volunteer for every little task. This can become rather disruptive because he does not know when to stop and never hesitates to cause a commotion.

History
MOTHER: [Vixen] that Prowls at Dusk - adoptable
FATHER: unknown
SISTER: [Cicada] Sings at Daybreak - adoptable
BROTHER: Claws of Praying [Mantis] - adoptable
MENTOR: [Swoop] of Eagle's Talons - adoptable
Vixen might have been a flirtatious and promiscuous she-cat, but she certainly was not ready to have kits. She was a beautiful, alluring, and capable molly and she knew it herself. She had an ambitious personality and was a sharp cave-guard, despising the idea of sitting in a den and caring for kits. Besides, the number of partners she had within the last moon simply made it impossible to determine the father when she fell pregnant. And so, with much protest, she succumbed to being a Kit-Mother only for a few moons.
The three kits, Cicada, Firefly, and Mantis were born healthy. But it was almost as soon as they were born that Vixen began to pick favorites. Vixen insisted that she had always wanted a daughter, and the delicate Cicada became the brunt of her grooming and obsession. She took close care of Cicada while more or less avoiding the responsibilities of disciplining her more adventurous tom-kits.
Thus the two brothers fought and argued without her supervision. Firefly was constantly meowing for attention, while Mantis was quiet and withdrawn, seeming to immediately accept that the two brothers could never win over their mother's affection. Mantis and Firefly disagreed on close to everything, and without a mother to discipline or mediate their fights, this soon grew into a deep-rooted resentment.
As the three became to-be's, it became ever more obvious that Cicada was the favored sibling. As Cicada grew closer to Vixen, Mantis and Firefly distanced themselves from the family while continuing to bicker constantly over small things. Firefly's mentor was a strict and uncompromising tom named Swoop. Swoop took no time disciplining the unruly to-be, which Firefly did not take kindly to. He had a rough and difficult time as a to-be. On one hand, he tried to please his driving and difficult mentor. On the other, he desperately yearned for closeness with his mother and was never able to impress her or gain her affections.
That is, until he met Rain that Falls in Morning, a younger to-be training to be cave-guard. The two soon bonded over their strange personalities, and Firefly believed he no longer needed his estranged and unloving family if he could continue to make friends like Rain. Firefly spent almost every bit of his free time seeking her companionship. With stable support and friendships, Firefly slowly began to take form into the quirky and extroverted jokester.
When the time came, Firefly became a full prey-hunter. With more maturity and experience, Firefly and Mantis are beginning to mend their tattered brotherhood. As for Vixen and Cicada, Firefly is unwilling to give his neglectful mother and sister any second chances. Without an adequate father figure or extended family, Firefly does not know how to deal with his family, and would rather avoid the topic altogether.
